Prezi is public now. We massively upgraded our servers. Anyone can start using Prezi right away. Many of you have asked about this, so let me start by saying:
You can see our plans and prices at Prezi.com/upgrade

But this is not all. We love sharing our Prezi online. But many many times, we wished that we could just finish the work on the plane, or do the final touch at the conference, or not having to wait to upload the HD video. Wait is over. Please allow us to introduce our offline standalone editor. Well, its a hybrid application, you can use it offline, but you can share your Prezi with a drag. Curious?
Have a peek at Prezi.com/desktop

We also updated the interface,
path steps are numbered, you can do projector proportioned frames, and many more. You can see the details about that in this previous post
And finally, now you can create, manage, join groups. This simplifies collaborations in teams, companies by a large extent.
We hope you enjoy these updates, we worked very hard to bring them all to you!
And in detail
First about the licenses. There are many many different uses for Prezi, from public education to top secret product demos. We defined 3 licenses which we hope will work for all of you.
First, if your software budget is very tight, go for Public License. Here Prezi is free of charge, and you eventually pay with your content, meaning that your presentations will be shared, visible to others on Prezi.com/showcase. We developed an algorithm which filters unfinished and ‘just trying’ prezi out, so the showcase will be a good resource for inspiration. (a side note: Public license puts a little extra load on your image search, as you should use images and videos from the net, whose licenses allow you to reuse them. You can search Flickr for example with various ‘creative commons’ license options, and there are millions of great images which can be used even for commercial purposes freely.)
If you have a little money to spare, Enjoy license gives you full control over your presentations’ visibility, more space, no Prezi branding. If you do your work fully online, use services like Twitter, Gmail or Google Docs, Enjoy license is probably for you.
Finally, if presentations have a great importance in your work, you travel a lot, or you need to keep certain things off the net, go Pro. Pro includes our offline standalone Prezi editor, the Prezi Desktop. The editor is 99% identical with the online version. However, there are some interesting details. Prezi Desktop is a hybrid app, you can log in to your account from the Desktop, and easily share online or download Prezis. The whole Prezi manager itself is a zooming interface, allowing you to quickly find the things you want. Some basic form of copy paste from one Prezi to the other is working as well. While we are confident Prezi Desktop is already worth its price, this is the first release, and many many features will be included in near future updates.
We also offer the possibility of your own installation of Prezi server, either for larger institutions, or for full data security with convenient sharing.
And last, we have a trial, which is fully functional, no time limit, but you can only create 3 Prezis, and download your finished ones 3 times. All the beta accounts (not the pro ones) will go into Try mode now, and you have time to try, evaluate and decide what is best for you.
Lets talk about the details in the comments. Let us know what you think.

Hi, thanks god you are up again!
just two after upgrade comments:
– the downloaded presentation for offline view, gives this error message: “we can’t load your file. is your internet working?”. it loads all except the media files and this message doesn’t go away.
– Prezi desktop gives a message about release expiration. it is not running at all.
Hi Morteza,
Thanks for you comment we are on it. Hope to fix this very soon!
I have just ordered and paid for an upgrade.
The payment was successful. Still, I have access to the trial version only.

its buggy and I just discovered i cant trust it. In order to be able to use it for work I need to be able to trust it,… going back to ppt. Might come back in the future though.
I can’t access my PRezi! What happened! I see it in my Prezi’s but when I click on it the systems directs me to the home page! EEEEK!
I cant download my online presentation to the desktop, its showing “synchronizing” for 2 seconds, but nothing happens. Also i cant edit online anymore.
Cheers
Frank
new error messages:
– in Prezi desktop it cant offlie presentations and gives this error: “Can’t load the one of the fonts so the prezi you see (if you see anything) can be very strange.”
– in My Plezi I can’t download my presentation and it gives this error message: “ERROR: DOWNLOAD QUOTA EXCEEDED”.
I have created two Prezi presentations but when I try and open them they just hang up after partially loading the file.
The word Prezi starts to print out and I get Pr and half of the e and it just hangs up…
Dear All,
working to fix all these bugs. Please post here or at the support link (feedback link) below if you encounter any
if its regarding your account, please sign with your name so we can find you
How about academic pricing?
Peter, we thought that the Enjoy should be priced fine if you are a heavy academic user, as you have net access throughout campuses.
We are looking into future possibilities of licenses tailored for academia, but that will take a while.
Some big difficulties since Sunday. First of all, a prezi which I need to use today has been re-arranged, and some of the media files have trouble loading. On top of that, group select doesn’t seem to work anymore, so so far I can’t put it back the way it should be. This is despite the fact that i upgraded to a pro account!
How to download the offline editor?
When I log it there is a link that says “get offline editor”. When I activate that I can download a manual but no desktop version of prezi!
What can I do?
Best,
Florian
Hi Florian,
coming very soon, in a couple of hours max. We found a bug in there and it made more sense to withhold its availability until its fixed (a couple of hours)
Sorry for all these transition issues, today everything should be back to normal (well beyond that of course
)
…
Hi CR,
what is the presentation ID you have trouble with?
for group select, please hold down SHIFT key. interface updates included that now you can drag in Place mode, and use SHIFT for selection box. more at prezi.com/manual and linked from the post above.
working on a presentation after upgrading to the public licence – got this error message after several successful save…xmlSaving the reason is: Event ioError Error #2032
needless to say the internet connection was OK. Any ideas?
What is your Prezi ID please?
apologies – I gave the wrong email address. I assume this is the ID you mean?
Hi, sorry i mean the presentation ID, its number you see in the URL, or just paste the URL here…
thanks
sorry. here’s teh ID: http://prezi.com/26250/edit/#118
Matt,
we changed the settings of our servers. And I think now you can edit and save.
peter
Sorry. I still get this error message:
Technical details:
type: xmlSaving the reason is: Event ioError Error #2032
For the record, we had another server outage about an hour ago, and it is fixed now. (I unpublished the two one liner posts here about it)
Sorry again, this upgrade was a major technological step for us, and a but rough here and there in the last 30 hours. I am doing a large Prezi now myself, and things to work all fine!
I can create New Prezi but I CAN’T open it to edit or download.
help me~
Hello,
For the second day in a row I’m trying to save a prezi I made (http://prezi.com/27389/edit/#6). But it only saves a part of the presentation and not the whole presentation. In “My prezi” there is a hand ‘counting’ I assumed it was saving, so I left my computer on for about one hour, but that doesn’t solve the problem.
I hope you can solve my problem, because when I can’t count on the site working the right way, I have to look for another way to make my presentations (and that’s a shame, cause I really like the way prezi looks and works).
Greetings from a desperate teacher….
Martijn.
I think that you should loose the limit on the offline editor. It kind of destroys the impression of the whole Prezi image of making presentations “easy” and “better” when you only can make three of them.
Juzz,
the 3 prezi limit is only in the trial mode, once you go for the pro license you can do a million!
Hi Martijn
is it working now?
if not, can you please report on our support page?
I love Prezi. The idea of zooming presentations is great and after awhile the interface for creating presentations feels very natural. It’s great to see that the product is now ready for the public. Congrats!
However, I’m somewhat taken aback by the new licenses. What bugs me the most is that the public license makes all the presentations public. This will create a big threshold for those wanting to get to know the service, as they will have their work exposed to the world when they are just learning to use the system. The algorithm you mention wont fix the psychological barrier, if the users can’t clearly choose by themselves when they want to share their work with everyone.
Another unwanted effect will be that the Showcase area will become mostly populated by work that are not really meant to be showcased: amateurish and probably not so inspiring presentation. It’s not the amateurs but the pros who will want – and who you as the service provider should want – to make their work public.
Sorry. I still get this error message:
Technical details:
type: xmlSaving the reason is: Event ioError Error #2032
I’d take this to the support page you mentioned above, but I can’t find it.
Hi, while I support your moving to licences, makes the project more sustainable, and therefore more likely to be worth the effort to get to learn to use it well … there are two problems.
1: Your free licence being public is a problem, if I’m recommending to clients to try it then they want to try it on real data, and that usually means private data. Look for example at how co-mapping does it – you get 30 days, full functionality, so you really get to try it out.
2: The UI is still very rough, I did a Prezi with feedback when I started using it, and as far as I can tell none of the problems there have been fixed. http://prezi.com/5388/
Don’t get me wrong – I love the concept of Prezi, and think its the first serious alternative way of thinking about the presentation problem, but its still got a way to go before I’d want to use it for a presentation before a non-geek audience.
Hi Mitra,
thank you!
We understand that for business users the public version is not working. This is why we have a fully featured trial as well, without time limitation. The only limitation is that you can create max 3 presentations with it. But there is no other limitation. If you decide that Prezi is not for you, you can still keep it and play back the one you did with prezi, it won’t expire.
Can you help us please, does this not work in business context in your opinion?
we are focusing on the interface now – and some of the things you mention are available while some others will be coming soon.
Hi Adam – the fully featured trial would work, as long as the Prezi’s were private – and you could test the sharing (which for example works well on co-map, but is non-functional on the otherwise wonderful ToodleDo).
The UI stuff is the real problem with a for-pay system, in my opinion, its not really yet usable to create a professional looking presentation with a lot of text on it. A couple of minor things on that list got done, but none of the really important stuff, like being able to get back in and edit stuff easily, or being able to create a box of text with a headline, and some bullet points. Yes – I know that sounds like powerpoint, but as part of a presentation its important.
Hello,
I would like to know how change color’s text in my prezi?
Thanks for all
Sorry if this was not clear: Trial is private. It is a fully featured Pro license. The only limit is the 3 presentations, otherwise its quite ready for business use.
Maybe we should update our naming?
Sandra,
this is coming in the next release, it is not yet available today – you need to choose the color scheme when you create a new prezi
I bought an ‘enjoy’ license and downloaded Prezi Desktop. Now Prezi online recognizes my Prezi account, but the desktop says my account is invalid (I think it sees me as still a trial user). Further, when I tried to download the desktop on my work machine, I couldn’t find the desktop version at all on your site.
Help appreciated.
geof
Hi Geof,
The Enjoy account does not include the offline editor. Only the Pro account users have access to it.
Please upgrade if you’d like to use the offline editor.
looks great, hopefully the below remarks are not correct !
please go on …
Hi to the team of prezi, you created a great tool!
But i have something to complain about:
As i was working with prezi before you released the public version, there was a function which made it possible to mark several elements and resize / move them all together. that really made my life easier when restructuring older prezis.
now this function seems to be gone! i cannot draw a selection under the “place”-function anymore!
did this function really disappear? i cannot not understand that decision, if yes.
i would like to hear from you,
Christoph Bauer
Hi Christoph,
hold down shift to select multiple items.
we did this so you can navigate in place mode easier.
some more info here:
http://prezi.com/manual/#transformationzebra
thank you very much!
maybe you should add this to the mini manual on the right upper side of prezi – i was trying like crazy
great work, keep it up!
christoph Bauer
Dear All,
can I please ask you to use http://getsatisfaction.com/zuilabs for general support from now on. many many thanks
Adam
im trying to market my prezi and believe this should be embeddable in a flash swf, so i can add it to a page or a social marketing app. let me know if that is future upgrade or possible to add this to my own webpage
I love Prezi! You guys are geniuses!
I don’t have any trouble with the UI, and the Enjoy license is worth every penny. I have used Prezi for two serious business meetings (one, an IT Disaster Recovery Planning meeting), and people were amazed.
I don’t want to share my Prezi’s but your trial license with up to 3 presentations is more than fair. Keep up the good work!
Hejhej!
Are you planning to offer more upgrade plans/options along with “Pro” and “Enjoy”? Both do not really suit my needs. I would like to use (or at least try out) the offline editor, private prezis and a secure connection. Neither the space that is offered with the “Pro” plan is needed, neither do I want to remove the watermark.
Could you please offer a modular plan, where people can choose which items and how much space they want? Thanks and greetings!
Cathryne
Hi you can try the offline editor in trial mode, with the limitation of creating 3 prezis. The trial mode is a full featured Pro account so you can create 3 private prezis, and use secure connection as well.
Ah, thanks
You should definitely include that upgrade path the from free/public account:

Hi, I write from Argentine.Today I update my desktop version, and when I tried to open again I lost my presentation. I worked for two weeks I and have a conference in a week!!! How do I restore my presentation. And What Happened?
