My page upgrade now live: send a prezi in password protected email, embed and collaborate!

In the past weeks they were under an experimental URL (thanks for your great feedback), today we finally deploy the following new features live:

1. Send a prezi to a client or colleague via email – with password protection (Pro and Enjoy customers)
2. Embed with a code generator on the new My page
3. Invite collaborators, simply by adding their email, even if they don’t have a prezi account yet.

All these features are available from the redesigned My page that is now live. As we have mentioned before, the structure of the page has changed as we added the new features. You will see it immediately when you login on Prezi.com.

Start using them now, and don’t forget to have your say in the comment area!

  1. Just starting to get used to ‘Prezi’ after years of ‘Keynote and Powerpoint… page presentations’. This is fantastic, keep it up! You are changing the way we work on presentations.

  2. happyseaurchin says:

    looks good
    apart from a simple thing:
i can’t copy the link to the prezi easily
and perhaps you could include a
copy to clipboard option right beside it
like you have the embedded object :)

  3. Zoltan Radnai says:

Good idea, thanks! We can not promise anything specific, still we regularly consider ideas, input from users.

  4. Adam Galambos says:

I would love to use prezi more, but I would need to be sure that my presentations can be downloaded. Right now, when I try to download, the dialog box will say “successfully exported,” but when I save the .zip, only part of the file is saved (and so I can’t open it). I am using a Mac, OS X 10.4.11. Any suggestions?

  5. Zoltan Radnai says:

Thanks for the feedback, I have sent an email to you regarding the issue!

  6. Ahnna says:

I love Prezi! It is so nice to have a new option for visual presentations. Just a couple suggestions:
    1. have an option to print sections so that this can be done if necessary.
    2. when you want to delete a presentation it asks if you are sure but ther is no “Yes” button, only “No.” So not able to delete presentations.

Hope this helps, keep up the great work.

    Hey there,

Used Prezi in front of clients for the first time today and received an excellent response. I should be on commission :)

It would be even better if once we have framed objects they can be moved as one item.

  8. Callum Whyte says:

    Hi love prezi,

But when I download and try to run it the presentation is very slow and jerky. I have a 1.4 GHz processor, 1.5 Gb of RAM and the latest versions of flash. Any suggestions?

  9. mg says:

I’ve been looking into Prezi for our group but there’s a few real obstacles before we (or others here in the US) could adopt it. Thought I would share it with you.

    1) The fact that you default ALL presentations – except those on the ENJOY plan to “public” – is crippling. If you are going to gain audience traction by intending to “retain” the work people create for your own “showcase”, then at the least you should allow TRIAL users to fully make private as well as DELETE their presentations. This way they have the opportunity to “show” the concept in action to their peers without the most obvious concern that “their company or organization data” is publicly displayed without the consent of ALL stakeholders.

    2) Security and privacy is a concern because in many organizations- multiple people need to “approve” use of a new application – which usually will not happen in less than 30 days. Therefore, it is impossible for those of us to actually endorse your app as a viable solution- because we have no way to ensure the rest of our team of security of the presentation. I believe in the hundreds of reviews written about your app – the ability to set prezi’s to “private” and security overall has been a REPETITIVE concern.

    3) Your help manual gives absolutely NO specification on “how to DELETE your prezi” entirely off your servers. While “delete” appears to be an option on the “download desktop version” (which comes at a hefty fee) — still no way to delete off your servers. Which many have found to be a bit “Orwellian” of a tactic. Even YouTube allows you to delete your own content. Why not prezi?

I am writing this not to be critical – but because I am disappointed that for the above reasons- I am unable to utilize what otherwise appears to be a very progressive alternative to the usual “ppt” presentation style.

I seriously suggest loosening up on your policy with regards to ability to delete, make private, regardless of pricing level. Again, at the very least – give trial users the 30 days of full functionality and make it CLEAR that if they do not remove their prezi’s before the trial date- then they WILL be perpetually part of the public timeline.

    Hope this feedback helps.

  10. Bryan Midlick says:

I am also having a downloaing issue. Once I save the prezi to a folder my computer tell me that the file is a compressed zipped file, and will not open. Any ideas?

  11. Hello, I am very interessted in Prezi, but before I buy it I would like to test it. I tested allready on this site the tool I got, but I could not really get a real overview of the functions. I would for example like to try another colour of the font, but there is not really a choice.
Is it possible to get some more information about the functions, or do I need to buy prezi to get the whole spectrum?

Could you please answer me by sending me an email on publicrelations@grundig-gbs.com

    Thank You!

  12. Zoltan Radnai says:

    Hi

    2. We have that option, please take a closer look

  13. Zoltan Radnai says:

    Cool, thanks!

  14. Zoltan Radnai says:

hi, can you send your prezi link for us to see?

  15. Zoltan Radnai says:

Hi, Thanks a lot for the detailed ideas!

    1. our business model is a well known web model called freemium.

    2. Enjoy and Pro users can set prezi to priivate, even send password protected prezis to associates. That we have developed with business users in mind. So I dont get your point, why you think it is not secure for a team?

    3. Delete is an option on the My page. Click a prezi thumbnail, delete is under Manage tab

  16. Steve says:

    Zoltan,

This is a wonderful product. Intuitive, innovative and just plain good. However, the purchase options are rather limited. Why can I not just purchase the product, rather than pay £100 every year. PPT may be boring but at least it is cheap. I would love to use this product but not at that price.

Best wishes and I do love your product.

  17. Zoltan Radnai says:

    Hi,

Thanks for the praise. Our business model – software as a service – is based on signup and not an out of the box product. One of the most important among the reasons is that Prezi is basically an online tool, an online service.

  18. eof says:

any options to order a custom style?

  19. woop says:

    cool
    thanks
    i didnt really read it
but our class is using this site for our assignment. n its really cool cos i get how to us it
    cheers
    x

  20. ANGELINE says:

thanks so much praise.I am a medechine teacher.IT’s so better for me.

  21. Zoltan Radnai says:

Sure. Please send an email so we could discuss the details about that.

  22. Áron Levendel says:

    Hey

Jeah, it looks great, but I can’t delete a prezi!
Actually the button (“yes”) does not work for me!
    (MAC 10.6, Safari 4.0.3)

Are you guys faced with such problem?

    GO PREZI :) )

  23. C. Mate says:

    @Adam Galambos
    @Bryan Midlick
maybe you should try to unzip the folder first, after this it should work.

    @Zoltan Radnai
    - i have tried the free version and a very important thing i miss is the customizable font styles. my suggestion is to include some basic text customizing options like fontcolor/bold/italic/underlined.

    hajrá
    mate

  24. Zoli Radnai says:

hi could you specify the problem? What do you mean by not working? Of course you mean that it does not delete your prezi, still we really need some more specific data to identify the issue. Any error messages? What happens when you click that button?

  25. Zoli Radnai says:

Hi, thanks for the suggestion. As we have already mentioned, this kind of customization is already in our scope. No deadlines or release dates though.

  26. Tim Koogle says:

This praise is coming from China. I really appreciate the wonderful service this site offers. The impact is universal which is far beyond the language or culture barrier. But…^_^ But the display of Chinese is incomplete that I can’t type some Chinese fonts. Can you do sth about that? Thank you in advance.

  27. Erik says:

Thanks for the update on prezi!

    2 questions!

1: right now, when I try to download, the dialog box will say “successfully exported,” but when I save the .zip, only part of the file is saved (and so I can’t open it). I am using a Mac, OS X 10.6.11

2: i just finished a presentation. when exporting it becomes a file of 172.6 mb. Images used total no more then 6 mb. It seems prezi exports all images I tried to use for the presentation, including 2 movies, but which I deleted. I cannot use the preso like this….

Thanks for your help! I am in a hurry. Need to present the presentation I created…..

  28. Erik says:

    Another question….
Can I use prezi presentation (which i create and export on a mac) on a pc?

  29. Zoli Radnai says:

    Hi,

1.: strange: this happens using the desktop editor? Can you send the prezi URL? Do you see any error messages?
2.: wow, even stranger. Please send us the URL of the prezi in email to support_at_prezi_dot_com!
3.: sure, since the zipped package includes an .exe file and an app file as well.

  30. Scott says:

Very neat presentation tool. It’s anti-PowerPoint, so I bet even Edward Tufte would like it.

Need any additional developers or testers?

    Scott

  31. Zoli Radnai says:

    Hi,

thanks for the feedback! If you would like to take part in Prezi testing/developing, please drop an email to our CTO, Peter Halacsy. His address can be found on the about page of Prezi.com

  32. Erik says:

    Hi Zoli,
1 +2: It is on my desktop. So, yes, it happened to me while using the desktop editor.
Can you inform me how to send you the url.
Sorry to have to ask, but how do I send you the URL? Cannot seem to find it….

Would like to mention I truly like Prezi and am becoming reseller of your product in NL. Have shown it to a couple of companies who are all interested in buying it… Even teaching them on how to use it….

    Thanks again!

  33. Zoli Radnai says:

Hi, so you have your prezis on the desktop, but you cannot export, even upload them?

  34. Erik says:

    Hi,
Well I can export them to my own computer / desktop.
But, I cannot find any URL attached that I can use for sending. I create them on my desktop. Yesterday I used yousendit to send a presentation.
I just uploaded the presentation I referred to, to http://www.prezi.com/my. No idea how to get the URL. There do not seem to be any items in the main menu to do that.

  35. TJ says:

I love the collaboration feature. It makes working on presentations for school in a group so much easier. We no longer have to find times to work together, but can collaborate entirely online. I’m looking forward to future updates.

  36. Jeri Hurd says:

I am the tech coordinator at our school and am seriously impressed with this.

One thought: Granted this is in my own interest, but you might consider following VoiceThread and Animoto’s example and giving educators free pro-level accounts. Believe me, it pays off as students become used to the tool and gives you great word of mouth.

Also, am I the only one struggling with paths?? Will a path only link to a frame? I can’t seem to link it to ‘zoom in’ on text.

    Keep up the good work!

  37. Nathan Gold says:

    Hi Zoli,

Prezi is one of the most amazing new presentation tools I have seen in a long time. I thought that Mindmanager could take the place of PPT, but not really. I tried though.

Now, with Prezi, I can entertain audiences with movement and an exciting new way to present to a group.

My only only only issue with Prezi is that when I am creating a Prezi, sometimes (actually often) when I try to select an item, the screen zooms out. Then, I have to use the Z and mouse to get it back. Maybe there is a short cut to zooming back in that I am missing somewhere???

Thank you for a wonderful new way for us to present ideas!

  38. Zoli Radnai says:

Hi, thanks for your feedback! Please also consider creating a Halloween prezi and send it over! We have started to develop an Educational license as well, more to come soon. You can add the path to frames, or directly to texts as well. Could you describe what went wrong with that?

  39. Zoli Radnai says:

Hi thaks for your great feedback! There’s no shortcut to step back/forward in Prezi zooming. The phenomenon you have described is caused because in Place mode when you click the background, it zooms out and shows the big picture. You can avoid this by zooming closer to the field you edit. That helps you not to miss the clicks :)

  40. Clive Rossington says:

Hi. I have been trying to download a Prezi and am having no luck at all. The only thing I seem to get is a zipped folder with no files in it. can you please advise, as I would like to demonstrate this product at next week’s meeting and do not have access to the Internet there.

  41. Zoli Radnai says:

    Hi,
yesterday that time we had an unexpected server issue that has been solved since. Please try again, it should work now.

  42. Matthew says:

Hi zoli, this is Matthew. Hi rest of group 5

  43. Karl says:

MG: Consider setting your presentation content up in something traditional, say PowerPoint, for your R&A process. Then move it to Prezi after its been blessed. After all, its the text content that needs review, not presentation medium. Even for your Look-and-Feel Gestapo it should be possible to include all the logos, disclaimers, and administrivia within the Prezi framework.

  44. Cathryne says:

This new “my page” has one serious flaw! Upon clicking on a prezi in the overview the details pop up and after a second the window scrolls down. This results in the delete button scrolling up to where the open button was just a second before….

  45. Zoli Radnai says:

Hi we have not seen this before. Could you please give us more details on your system specs? What OS, browser you use?

  46. Cathryne says:

This scroll error appears in Firefox 3.5 on WinXP SP3 and Win7 64bit (home and university PC). The screen resolution is 1280×1024.
My guess is, that the details popup forces its way to the middle of the screen. Why there is so much space below
    * About * Pricing * Blog * Contact us * Support * Work@Prezi
    I don’t know.

  47. Cathryne says:

Scroll error is gone/fixed :-) Thanks!

  48. Scott says:

I would like to use this as a basis for a simple website. How might I insert a link to my blog or email within a presentation? Thanks.
