Prezi Video Introduction by Technology for Learners and Teachers

Written on November 7th, 2009, by Zoli Radnai

We have just found a very cool video introduction of Prezi on BlipTV. The show is a part of a showcase for websites and other technology that aid the learning and teaching process. It’s made by a group of instructional designers, the series called: Technology for Learners and Teachers (T4LT). The two hosts, Emily and Allen work at the Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, IA. In their series of videos they share examples of how to use tech tools for teaching and learning.

The review is thoughtfully edited and fun to watch. It does much more than just introducing the tool. T4LT team also shows Prezi’s advantages against slide-by-slide presentation tools.

This is awesome, thanks guys!

I teach Maths and use a fair bit of hide-and-reveal. I will show part of an equation, talk about it and then reveal the rest of it progressively. Any way I can do this on Prezi?

Also, any quick and good way of keying in Mathematical symbols? Plans to support latex commands?

    Thanks.

Hi, yes we have plans to support LaTex, as we have mentioned before in a number of forums. We have some core developments that we need to focus on right now first. Prezi is a good tool to show what you have mentioned. Just add a frame to the first part, then add the path to it, then do the same with the second part. The camera will zoom from the first to the second part on your click. You can also do this if you have a pre-made pdf with the symbols. This is the best way right now to do this, since pdfs are resulting better resolutions when scaling then jpg-s or png-s.

In that case, if you can give us an editing tool to duplicate frames, it would ease our job in doing the job. We could duplicate one frame, add a little to the new one, duplicate that and add some more, …

And when we can overlay the frames, hiding the previous one, it will look like we are revealing things page by page.

    Thanks.

Looking forward to the new features.
