Based on the feedback we receive from Prezi authors, we have added new, smoother camera movements between elements when playing or showing a prezi. Check the video above. The first half was created with the version now available for the public, while the second half was recorded using the yet experimental new camera movements feature. Do you want to test the new anti seasickness effect?
Here is what you should to do to try this out:
Add an experimental extension to any prezi URL like this: http://prezi.com/************/edit/experimental/eagle
Please note that your prezis created in experimental mode will loose beta enhancements once you play them without the experimental URL.
We can’t wait to have your feedback, and experiences about this.
whoa! now i don’t get motion-sickness when i flick through my prezis quickly! kudos to you guys
Thank’s very nice experience with this new smoother movements
I didn’t try it on my prezis (don’t have the time now), but what i see here in the video looks great!
NIce i would use this intstead of the old one.
great, much better experience, is this available in DesktopMode soon?
Hi Flo, thanks for your feedback. After we have implemented it, yes.
Perfect! This is exactly what I was waiting for! Looking forward to seeing an update offering multiple paths
Good job indeed: thumbs up!
It’s nice having the slower motion for big motions. It helps give the viewer the ability to see where you are going in the process more. Love it!
This smooth movement is fantastic! I can still remember the first time I used Prezi, all the audience were impressed but also kind of dizzy. It’s really good job!
Can I download my presentations with this new pace.
It’s smooth … and dull.
By all means have it as an option, but please keep the original which makes an impact. If I want predictable dullness I’ll use Ppoint
Hi Alick,
thanks for your feedback! I like that you liked the old version better than the smoother one. Still, for most of our users this version is easier to follow, smoother and your eyes can get transitions easier. I don’t think that dullness has anything to do with this. Prezi’s power is the nonlinear, slideless approach, the possibility to explore and present your ideas just as we exlpore real spaces: in a spatial way. It’s not about transitions only.
I love the new version – it’s a lot less jarring with the rotations.
When will this be available for use with downloaded prezis?
Looks great. Can’t wait to try.
Prezi is wonderful, but frankly, it can shock an audience that isn’t used to it, and the bouncing effect can be much for very long presentations. This new option means that I can make Prezi act like PP for the first part and slowly introduce new effects.
Thank you, Prezi!
The new version is much better to my eyes. I would rather have the “speed” option in Prezi.
Please have this implemented ASAP!
Just tried it. Significant improvement. Good work guys.
I semi-agree with Alick … as in I think it’s a matter of preference, but I do think that the sudden “wow” affect magnified by the previous movement is lost. I would even say I would be very disapointed to see it go!
How about we compromise and we are given an option to choose a “style”? If you wanted then to take it even further, you could allow us even more control over not only the movement type, but the movement speed.
Please please don’t get rid of the original one … thank you!
PS: Every single person I’ve shown Prezi to is blown away.
Hi, thanks for the comment and the idea. We always listen to what Prezi authors have to say. Many people had issues with the faster version, because with long camera movements it was impossible to see objects whooshing by. For many users it’s easier now to follow the zooms. A custom solution would be the best, I agree.
Love the new look! Gives a much more controlled look and more professional. Hope it becomes a permanent option soon!
Just updated my presentation with the new movements, and they are much smoother. Especially since mine is for code I think my audience will appreciate the text not moving so drastically.
Hi guys,
Excellent job. I tested zooming inside a letter, to discover hidden small text, and moving along an arrow to find more text. The result is reallt good in both. THNX!
Jaime
You really did a good job. It’s much nicer now to follow a prezi without getting dizzy. When will this be implemented as a regular feature?
Aaaargghhhh, I can’t download it in eagle mode… any suggestion, please?
It was awesome! I really like this new improvement; please have it implemented for download ASAP!
Hello Sirs,
The URL has extra string or id after /edit/ like this one: edit/#20_3492966/
When I try adding experimental/eagle, it doesn’t work. If I delete the string and add experimental/eagle after /edit/, it gives me:
“We can’t load a file. Is your internet connection working?”
details:
type: mediaDownload the reason is: PreziError type: mediaDownload the reason is: ErrorEvent ioError Error #2035
I tried it on my pc internet connection and in an internet cafe connection, both didn’t work. Saving my prezi doesn’t have a problem, only converting it to smoother prezi does.
I hope to convert my prezi to the experimental version today because I’ll present it on Wednesday. I hope you can give me tips. I’m using prezi online. Thank you.
Hi, the experimental editor under the code name “eagle” is not available anymore: all it’s features are live in your current version of Prezi. The error message you get suggests that there is an issue with the network. Probably there are certain firewall settings both on your network and the internet cafés that prevent file uploads.
I’m still learning from you, while I’m trying to reach my goals. I certainly love reading everything that is written on your blog.Keep the tips coming. I liked it!
