Spring is finally here and Prezi is celebrating with new features based on the valuable feedback we receive from you on our community forums. Thanks for developing these new features with us. Play around with them and have your say in the comments area!
Seasick no more
We often hear about seasickness caused by excessive panning in Prezi. The best way to prevent this is to pan less and structure your presentation with frames. Based on your feedback on the test version, improved camera transitions in prezis have been released. The new transition works on both old and new prezis. (This feature development was based on the article: Smooth and Efficient Zooming and Panning by Jarke J. van Wijk and Wim A.A. Nuij).
Hidden frames
With hidden frames, your content comes forward. Group elements in Edit mode, hide frames during Show mode. You can find this option in the online and desktop versions, and inside the “Frame” bubble of the menu.
Copy and paste between prezis
Work less by copying and pasting elements from one prezi to another (both browser tabs and separate windows work). Sometimes it’s easier to use only specific parts of reusable prezis!
To perform copy/paste between prezis:
- open a prezi
- go to “Write” mode, select an element, or groups of elements by clicking them once
- hit Ctrl+c
- open a different prezi in another tab or window, go to “Write” mode
- hit Ctrl+v.
note: use this keyboard shortcut even on Mac computers to perform copy/paste.
Wow, thank you
I’ve been wanting the copy and paste function, so this is great news! Great idea with the hidden frames too. Thanks!
Love the hidden frames!
Thank you very much for Printing functionality. Thank you.
There are some great additions to Prezi here.., but one question: how can I change the font, and colour of font?
Hi Finn,
You can only change to the fonts and colors that are offered in the different prezi styles.
You can order a custom style here: sales AT prezi DOT com
Thanks, I especially enjoy the hidden frames. It helps me a lot while using mind maps in presentations. Also multiple paths in one document would be great
Great additions! Thanks
Where can I add thoughts of additional functions?
Thank you. Please share your ideas at http://community.prezi.com
Sweet! As a new user, these enhancements will be great! I can’t wait to play.
Great! I’ve really been waiting for copy/past. Ideal for pasting company templates! Thanks!
Thanks guys, the new features are awesome. You’re going right directly to success. I’m showing Prezi to all my co-workers and they’re loving it.

Hi~
All functions are very useful.
Thanks for all listed.
But When is the time to write Korean in Prezi?
Please add this functions to Prezi.
Thanks.
Dear Prezi,
Thank you for your absolute important improvements. Especially the hidden frame!
Copy & paste, hidden frames and “print” to PDF: you just made my day, really
Hidden frames is really a feature I was missing in Prezi.
Thanks to you! Now I can remove the white pdfs I had to put in background to simulate this feature.
Love the changes. I’m so pleased with Prezi and the fact thta you listen to user requests.
wow, what a package of enhancements!
OK! But, I reckon I’m not alone when I ask for more options of fonts, colours & styles. Do you think you could offer some more in a near future?

Hi Claudio,
You are right, there are other people asking for this and thanks for the suggestion. The development team will consider you suggestion but we can not promise any specific features to anyone as there are lot of prezi users with a lot of different needs. Stay tuned for updates!
Well done! Thanks
Excellent update. So glad to not be using transparent squares with 1 pixel at each corner any more to do hidden frames in coloured backgrounds!
Very nice upgrade!
But you can’t copy/paste in the desktop version of prezi. You’ll get an errorbox “Cannot download image”
@Bas Sorry about this. I have let the tech team know
[...] What if I am already familiar with Prezi? If you are already familiar with Prezi, visit their recent blog post announcing new features http://blog.prezi.com/2010/04/06/new-features-based-on-your-ideas/! [...]
You guys are unbelievable!! Great job!!!! Prezi is propagating, every time I make a presentation, how I did it, that the question I hear always! Thanks!
@Peter Arvai, in the offline version of prezi you can’t upload a PDF. I can not select a pdf. In the online version it works perfectly.
[...] Made this some time ago and guess what? They solved it: http://blog.prezi.com/2010/04/06/new-features-based-on-your-ideas/ [...]
Thanks for these additions!
I guess the only thing I miss now is a possibility to turn several items into one functional thing (similar to the “group”-item in powerpoint), so that I do not have to select all items separately each time I want to change their (combined) size, orientation or position
hi
thanks for the feedback!
thanks for the new features, me likey
is it possible to color the background enclosed by a frame?
can you change the style once you start? I am using white, which one will give me choice of fonts and colors?
is there a way to move all the objects in a frame other than one at a time?
thanks-
You can change the prezi style whenever you wish. You cannot change colors or fonts freely now.
why do my images disappear at times?
My prezi, for some reason, won’t show the images i upload? What do i do?
Hi, you must have overscaled your prezi and that is why your images don’t show up. Please try to zoom in/out to find your content. Try to add smaller images.
The Copy/Paste function is juuust what I was silently wishing for. I tried it once and it didn’t work, but I must have done something wrong. Thank you!
I think having colour choices would be cool! Perhaps to be available in the paid for version!? That alone would be enough for me to upgrade!
Wow. I’m amazed by the capabilities of Prezi. This is truly a revolution in presentation tools.
Hope to see customizable colors and fonts in the future, a crucial element to creating unique presentations. As a student, I’m excited to use this for my next presentation, just waiting to be able to use different fonts and colors. Thanks Prezi!
Great! Now comes the power of reusable prezis.
i love this software! When is the site going to have its new features done? When i try to log on it says that the site is undergoing feature maintainence.
Hi Zoli, thanks soooo much for these very nice new features.
The hidden frame is just the right thing to simply walk out from paths almost entirely: just organize hierarchically your views and you are done, so easy to navigate, click on it to zoom in, “down” arrow button to zoom out, way easier than brackets and much nicer than visible frames. A tip: I organize a path by subjects: when you zoom in on something and it belongs to the path, then the right arrow jumps to the next item on the path, that’s really great to jump directly to a hidden feature: I have some hidden hotspots that link directly to them, so click on them and “right” arrow, wooosh, you’re there in a whiz.
The copy-paste feature is good but a bit picky, it doesn’t seem to handle large collections… Too bad!
Another point: I don’t seem to be able to choose the “snapshot view” on the opening page, see http://prezi.com/lqranmbjzuqc it’s empty! I have to setup a path and click on the right button to see anything at all, and it spoils the surprise effect since some “hidden” features are revealed during the 1st zoom… I have tried everything, zooming in and out the whole thing, to no avail…
My students and colleagues just love it, thanks prezi.
I have just started using Prezi for teaching – great tool – though I was surprised to come into class this morning ready to teach and the site was down .. is one of the new features the ability to save offline work – other than the PDF? In the future – can there be a warning that the site will be down?
