Introducing Path Thumbnails

Written on October 18th, 2011, by David Malpass

We’re excited to announce that creating a Path just got a whole lot easier, thanks to Path thumbnails.

Now, adding a path point automatically creates a thumbnail in the bottom of your Prezi editor (only visible during Path editing).

Click on a thumbnail to see what your path point looks like, or rearrange and delete path points with a single click.

Let us know what you think!

Wow. This makes creating paths way easier. Now we just need the Android tablet app…

Great! It’s easy to see what stept the path contains and easy to switch the order by swapping thumbnails. Also the thumbnail is a good preview. Sometimes I click on the frame in stead of the word in it. Now the part that’s a node in the path is shown in the row.

    Thanks!

Awesome ! Very useful for some Prezi with several hundred steps, where deleting one was a nightmare. Thanks !

You got the point I think. Good job!

  5. We were working on a prezi yesterday with the intention of making up a series of diagrams to insert the right diagram at the right point during a recorded discussion when the new thumbnails showed up as if by magic. Wow! This will show us just what we will have on each diagram!! So it was very helpful.
Then we ran into the problem of ‘printing’ and nothing prints…. Where did it go? All we get is a PDF of the entire Prezi instead of the individual charts. I’m sure this is an easy fix, but I’m only a couple weeks into Prezi. I rejected using it 4 times before, then found it would work well this time. A combination of new functionality, new privacy and hearing it described as a single big sheet for ideas rather than splitting them up over many pp pages, did it for me. Aha!

Creating paths just got so much easier. Thanks for this new feature!

I was loving the path feature being able to add and delete and move. However, when I went back in a few hours later (today) I discovered I can only add. It won’t let me delete any nor will it allow me to move the order around in the path bar at the bottom. :(

I have about 30 frames to start. What gives?
