New editor enhancements

We have implemented new features in the editor that make it easier to add text, move around elements and manage your growing prezi while zooming and panning. Let's see what's new:

1. Move objects around simply by dragging them with your mouse. No need to click on them and use the zebra.

2. Just click anywhere and start typing to add text. Double click still works, and is used to edit existing texts.

3. The "Escape" key of your keyboard just became smarter:
- pressing esc while typing finishes the text edit session and closes the textbox.
- pressing esc while the Zebra is over an object makes the Zebra disappear

4. Lock elements with zooming (photo above): as you zoom in and out and items get tiny or huge, they will fade out and get "locked". They will behave like the background (you cannot drag them or select them but you can write on them). Unlocking is easy: just zoom to the opposite direction. Hitting the "shift" key (for multiselect) or multiselect by the zebra "+" menu option unlocks every object
(locking is disabled in show mode, you won't see faded objects while presenting)

jan, you can still use SHIFT to select more than one objects. If you have difficulties using SHIFT maybe you found a bug, you may report it here: http://community.prezi.com/

I think the new features are great. No disrespect, but if you do not like the features then you probably do not understand all the easy shortcuts already in Prezi. Prezi may be the most intuitive program I have seen.

I would like it though if the multiselect option highlighted the selected items rather than boxed them together. It can be difficult to move items if they are small and close together. Sometimes the box can overtake an item you have not selected and therefor the item will not move with the box.

p.s. How many educators do I need to get signed up on Prezi before I can get a free Pro upgrade?

I like most of them except the zoom in/zoom out one. Sometimes if I screw up, that gets in my way. It would be nice if you had the option of turning those on or off.

We really do need a spell check. That way, I don't have to type everything on word first and then copy and paste it. It is very annoying.

Interesting product! For me, the biggest downside is the inability to select my own fonts/background colours, and I absolutely need more than two available font colours. I also see some bubble options available on the videos that I don't seem to have in my desktop version. How do I get these?

Hi, our pro account offers 2 gigabyte space on our servers. We don't have a plan that offers 500 gigs. If you meant 500 megabytes and miystyped, you should go to this page: http://prezi.com/profile/upgrade/

I like prezi a lot, I started to use it yesterday! But I have a problem:
I read your post here, I try hard to unlock items, but I still can not select some simple texts and cannot edit them. What could be wrong???

I need help. Can I use prezi in the classroom so each individual student can create their own prezi or does it only come under the registered teachers name? I am looking at involving more than one student in this senario. thanx

Hi we have released the theme wizard feature a month ago. It allows you to customize colors and fonts in your prezi.

Prezi's whitepaper and glossy paper themes (first 2 in the colors menu bubble) are designed to accept all European typing.

Hi, I made something very small (obviously too small) and I have been trying this method of zooming in or out (no fade happens) and pressing shift, and nothing is working. Any other suggestions?

October 18, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterBonnie

I am making a Prezi by editing one that already exists. I had no problems to start but now I can't delete pictures or frames from the original. I tried using the shift button feature but that did not work.
