Grouping with Frames!

Now you can group items together in your prezi - using Frames.

How to group items within frames:
1. Add items (text, images, videos) to the prezi canvas
2. Select a frame to draw around the objects
3. Move/scale/rotate the frame and its contents together
4. To remove an object from a frame, drag the object out of the frame at any time.

OR:

1. Draw a frame on the prezi canvas
2. Drag and drop any object(s) (text, images, video) into a frame to group the objects with the frame
3. Move/rotate/scale the frame and its contents together.

To turn grouping off and move/rotate/scale the frame without the contents, Alt + Click on the frame. Note: grouping is not available with hidden frames.

You can also resize frames by double-clicking on a frame to see the four control points, and dragging the control points to change the size of the frame.

Is it possible to disable this feature? I used to rely on moving the frame only.

Well if you don't wanna create a frame but wanna move several elements in the same way you can do it just by selecting several elements at the same time. To do so you need to press shift, while keeping it pressed click with you mouse as you would do when drawing a frame and create a rectangle around the objects you wanna select. Then the zebra will appear which means that you can move, rotate, change the size of all the objects at the same time without creating a frame.
I hope it helps.

I'm so happy with this feature! A real help in making prezi's!
I'm in favor of making this available for hidden frames too:-)

Thanks for adding the grouping feature!

As someone who does a good deal of teaching using Prezi, I use a lot of hidden frames to avoid distractign my students. It would be a great help to allow grouping with hidden frames. Are there plans to enable this feature?

Hi Guarav,

yes, by holding the Alt key while dragging the frame.

Hi Jason,

you can still select multiple objects by holding the shift key while dragging with your mouse. Also: holding he shift while drawing a frame will draw it in 4:3 aspect ratio.

Hi. Here another vote for grouping with hidden frames. I just spent 20min working out why hidden frames didn't work (found this page).

I added a frame, but it won't let me open the move/scale/rotate function for the entire frame. Every time I try, it either opens it just for the one item in the frame, or it opens a new text line (the line it gives you to start a new line of text). It's not a hidden frame, so what do I do to get the frame function to open?

And another vote for grouping with hidden frames. When you want to include a lot of text and some images grouping with hidden frames would be much appreciated especially when you want to move elements and grow the presentation.

just click the frame once for the Zebra tool to come up. Double clicking the frame brings up the control points that allow you to resize. If you are too close or too far from the frame view in can be locked.

Wow ...... I like Prezi!
[1] If I group text and an image with a frame (not the hidden frame as I understand it will not group)the things are not grouped.

[2] Also, can I change the thickness (old PowerPoint jargon creeping in) of the frame itself?

Is it possible to lock or freeze an object (within a frame)? I think it would be useful.
I would like to use hand drawed frame, how can I do it?
Thanks!

Frames lock their content. After gaving added content to a frame, you can move the frame around along with it's content.

Hi! Just two points:

As others, I also cannot see while hidden frames do not support grouping.

Anther thing: I often change my mind, which frame type would suite best for a certaing gropng but then it is hassle to replace it. Would be a nice feature, if frame type would be just a property of a frame and could be changed.

Let's have grouping with hidden frames -- why is this not yet supported? For designing collages, it's helpful to resize a group of images, just like in powerpoint. Please have this feature in the next release!

I am having a lot of trouble with Prezi lately. I am creating a very big presentation with lots of pictures and some videos, and I am also a subscriber to Prezi Desktop but I find that I like using it online much better, there are features available online that I cannot seem to find on Prezi Desktop. Also, I can group online but cannot seem to group on Desktop.

I would continue to use online but it has become incredibly slow, I assume because of the size of my presentation, which is why I prescribed to Prezi Desktop and its not much better, often doesnt respond and more difficult to use. I recently updated it too.

Any advice or assistance?
