Sunday Maintenance

We’ll have to unplug Prezi.com this Sunday morning from 10-12 AM CET (08:00-10:00 UTC), due to software upgrades. The goal of the pocess is to upgrade hidden details of our payment and accounting modules.

During the process, our online services will be unavailable. This means:

  1. You won’t be able to reach Prezi.com, the online editor,

  2. You can’t login or reach your online Prezis from PreziDesktop (offline editor available for Pro users).

  3. You can still edit, and export presentations with PreziDesktop in offline mode (since the software is not necessarily connected to the internet).

  4. Of course you can even show your Prezis during downtime, if you have previously downloaded them to your computer.

We will try to make this as painless as possible. Our most effective weapon to achieve this goal is transparency and support.

For this reason, you can comment to this post or ask any questions at Prezisupport on Twitter while our data center is offline. Once the upgrade has finished, we will notify you immediately on the blog and on Twitter as well.

Help us speed up Prezi by clicking a link

We'd like to invite you to join a short test session. Prezi has to serve lots of media (images, videos, prezis) and we would like to do it as fast as we can. Now we are looking for an even better service we will use in the future. With your help we can choose the right one. We've created a simple speed testing webpage for this purpose. It automatically loads pictures from different service providers.

Please click here, or the link below and wait for the images to show up (images were taken on a Prezi Party). The process only takes a couple of seconds: there is an automatic speed test built in, you do not have to press anything. Once the images are fully loaded, you can close the page.

Thank you for clicking and helping us to improve Prezi!

Learning Social Media Technologies in School

The title above is not only for this post. It's been made up from a tagcloud that contains the top 100 keywords extracted from public prezi's titles and description. Here it is:

Screen shot 2009-11-27 at 12.56.57 PM

So this means these are the most common words you have used to handle your projects so far, which shows quite clearly the topics you are most interested in as well. These are education, social media and technology.

We are happy to see that our developments are going to the directions of your interest: your Prezi stories can reach a lot of people with embed, and you can spread the project on the social web as well. Learning and teaching is highly effective with Prezi, since you have everything at your fingertips, can show the big picture and zoom into the details easily. Our spatial layout helps the audience to remember more of the topic, and encourages dialog. And finally advanced technology, our common passion for new innovations that shape the way we live and interact with each other is one of the core values that drive us making Prezi even better.

Prezi License Upgrades: Recurring Payment, First 30 Days Free

BLOG_pay

This Sunday we have upgraded the license page, and made some core changes: (Log in and check the site here, or click here if you are new to Prezi).

  1. Prezi payment is now recurring. This means your annual subscription renewal is automatic until you decide to unsubscribe. You can unsubscribe at any time (This does not affect existing subscriptions).

  2. You can now pay with your credit card for a Prezi license too (earlier, users could only pay with an existing PayPal account).

  3. Public and Enjoy subscribers can now try out the Prezi Desktop software for 30 days without any limitations (when the trial period expires, you won't be able to access the desktop editor, unless you upgrade. You can of course access to your online Public or Enjoy accounts, and show prezis exported from the desktop during the trial period).

  4. Our subscription prices are now in US Dollars

  5. Subscription period is now one year for both paying accounts. For both paying accounts the first 30 days are free of charge (your credit card will only be charged on the 30th day of use).

We hope you find the new page nice and easy to use. So why don't you give it a try and upgrade now?
